Call for opens and IBIS related patent disclosures: - Mike: Unable to meet Nov 8 due to an election - Anders: When is the DST change in the US? - The change is this weekend in Europe - Mike: It is Nov 6 in the US AR Review: - Mike start IQ spec section for Algorithmic Models - Not done - Greg remove AMI checklist items not relating to IBIS 5.0 or 5.1 - Need latest checklist from Mike - A lot of the extra items had to do with S-parameters AR: Mike send latest checklist to Greg New items: Mike: What phase is the new format IBIS spec in? - Bob: Still in edit, but not active Mike showed the AMI checklist - Mike deleted 1.3-1.5, about Dependency tables - "Fully IBIS compliant analog model" is now 1.3 1.3: Fully IBIS compliant analog model: - Mike: Where does IBIS stand on specifying analog models? - Bob: There are competing proposals on that - Greg: Only I-V and V-T can be used to be 5.0 compliant - Bob: Some use S-params but those are not compliant - In theory the IBIS file is not needed, the AMI can stand alone - Mike: Opal 4.1 has a list of IBIS keywords for analog sections - An Output model probably requires many of the needed keywords - Bob: Many keywords are optional even if they are really needed in some cases - Mike: Does check 1.3 belong in the syntax checks section? - All syntax checks should be implementable in IBISCHK - Bob: There is no requirement that AMI models are differential, for example - Some people assert that that is implied - Mike: IBISCHK will not flag AMI Range params with Min > Max - Bob: Corner format does not require that, but Range does - The implementation of AMI checking in the parser is minimal - Mike: IBIS requires minimum keywords for Output that should provide an analog TX model - Bob: Some IBIS keywords are exempted if there is an [External Model] Anders: We might have to add something about model performance: - Eckhard: That depends on the model features - Mike: The wave_size passed to Getwave might affect performance - If many calls of small wave_size are used, startup overhead would be bad - If large wave_size is used quadratic memory allocation might be a problem AR: Mike post latest checklist Next meetings: - Next meetings Nov 01 and Nov 15 Oct 25 agenda: - Continued IBIS-AMI checklist review Meeting ended at 12:07 Eastern Time.
